The Folklore Library and Archive
Picture
Our reference library, which can be consulted in person, consists of over 2,000 books, along with many hundreds of magazines and periodicals. This page explains how to access what we hold.

BOOKS

Our library catalogue is divided into various collections. Some of these are linked to our Special Collections, and some are linked to bequests made by individuals. Anything not a part of these collections is housed in the Main Library.

Researchers who cannot visit us in person may request a copy of either one chapter, or 5% of the work (whichever is the greater) in line with current copyright regulations for educational research. A small charge will be made for the provision and postage of hard copies of materials, or for the scanning of physical items. A donation will be encouraged for the provision of electronic works.

You can browse our library catalogue online, by clicking on the magpie below. Please note the instructions regarding the separate collections.

Clicking on the icon will open the Main Library section of our library catalogue. You can choose any of the individual collections from the left hand side of the catalogue screen to browse the holdings in those.

JOURNALS AND PERIODICALS

We hold many journals and periodicals, and have recently received large runs of titles. We are currently working on listing all of these, which will be added to this page soon. Below you can find indexes for holdings which have already been completed.

Please contact us if you would like further information about any of the articles in these indexes. If you would like to help us to index our holdings, please get in touch about becoming a virtual volunteer.
