The Folklore Library and Archive holds material in a variety of formats: printed matter, audio and video resources and physical objects. We are committed to making as many of these items freely available in digital formats where copyright and other restrictions allow us to do so, to enable remote research to take place. You can explore all of our archives online using the images and other links below.
We are a non-profit organisation supporting preservation of materials and their use for research. If you find our archives valuable to your work, please visit our fundraising page and consider making a small donation towards our running costs. Thank you.

We are constantly adding folklore-related images to our image archives. You can view these online in a low-resolution watermarked format along with descriptions of the images and accession numbers.
Requests for high-resolution images for research purposes can be made by email or using our contact form. |
Our audio archives contain lecture recordings, folk music and song, oral histories and reminiscence interviews and other field research recordings.
Some of our recordings are public domain whereas others need research requests making. Click the Audio Archives logo to view listings of material available to request or listen to online. |
