The Folklore Library and Archive
Picture
The Black Dog Archives represent the UK's largest collection of sightings, reports, eyewitness accounts, traditions and references to the motif of the ghostly Black Dog. They comprise the transcribed collection of the late Devon folklorist Theo Brown, the donated research of Janet Bord and the collection of Folklore Library and Archive curator Mark Norman.

Also included in this collection are items of physical ephemera such as the hobby horse from the (no longer extant) 'Running of the Black Dog' ceremony. This archive is currently awaiting completion of indexing and will be made available online as soon as possible.
