Our image archives consist of a variety of formats from 35mm slide, positive and negative film photographs and digital formats. Materials portray a wide variety of customs, traditions and associated folklore. Preparing images for preservation and online use is a continuing task and, as such, the image archives will continue to grow over time.
Images displayed in the archives are low resolution for speed of loading, and watermarked with the Library & Archive stamp. To request a high-quality version of images for research purposes, or other projects, please contact us quoting the accession numbers of the images.
If you would like to donate copies of folklore-related photographs to the Folklore Library & Archive for researchers to access, please email us with details. You can send us images by email on the same link.
